Did you know

St Mawes Castle was first built as part of Henry VIII’s plan to create defensive building in the 1540s. It is suggested to be one of the best example of a Henrician artillery fort.

Members of the Royal Family have been known to visit St Mawes including Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, Princess Margaret and more recently the Duke (Prince Charles) and Duchess of Cornwall.
